I did not like this one at all. The story was I guess a love story... but I wanted a mystery. The entire mystery took up I would say a total of four pages of the entire book... it's as though it all got cut out on the editing floor! All of a sudden the conclusions are reached with absolutely NO suspense, clues, detection, etc.
Really poorly done, slapped together almost....less

"I really liked the grandmother in this... while some of the "growth" was forced... and I would have liked to see more interaction at the end to see how well it "stuck" it was still a fairly decent book.

My first impression of this book was that I didn't like it. When I re-read it I decided that I liked it better... there's a lot of military/submarine terminology that was offputting initially but once I looked up some of the terms the story was less cumbersome. And I loved the ending. Not a book for grammar snobs though... some sentence structure, word use, and spelling really should have been edited more closely....less

His Odd Thomas books seem to be hit and miss. The first and third were quite good. I didn't like the second and this one (the fourth) is clearly "one in a series" and not intended to finish when the book finishes, which is a feature of series that I detest. I'll wait on five six and seven until they are all out....less
