This book is the cheesiest thing I have ever read. But the thing that bothers me the most about this book are the kids. No self respecting 12 and 14 year old would act the way these kids do. I have never seen a 7th grader who would ask her daddy to make her a unicorn pancake and then can't eat it "because it looks like the real thing". The part about her daddy taking it to a field of flowers for the rabbits to eat pushed me over the top. The grief and death seem a little forced. The mother dies early on from bee stings (an allergy she didn't know she had even though she is supposed to have loved the outdoors). I'm about a third of the way through this book.
