It keeps you reading along but I would have preferred a bit more anguish in the characters. It reminded me of The Bookseller of Kabul but that one was a touch more original.

A typical Martin Amis novel. You may not like it but it gets you thinking. Actually it was strangely uplifting as it gives some hope. People get their due and there is a great metaphor involving two dogs.
