Short stories often leave me feeling unsatisfied. That wasn't the case with this collection. I also enjoyed a glimpse into another world I'm unfamiliar with. I want to read more of Sherman Alexie.

Very disappointing. I expected a comedy of manners, but failed to see the comedy,, and found the manners conniving and manipulative. Even the glimpse into summer visiting among a wealthy set seemed was not enchanting.

I had very mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, the writing was lyrical and hard to stop reading. On the other hand, I have no idea what the book was about. It was some kind of fairy tale or fable but way over my head.

The story of two women, one in post.1906 San Francisco earthquake and at the dawn of Camelot (1961), are interwoven as both women deal with issues of lost love. I enjoyed the glimpse into two eras I didn't live in.

This memoir about a couple who opens a bookstore in an unlikely small town in Virginia was entertaining, yet it wasn't a book I'm rushing to recommend to other reading friends.

The perfect summer book, a page turner yet light. I enjoyed the characters and story even though it was a bit predictable. I'm always drawn to books with "garden" in the title, even if it's a book I might not typically choose otherwise.
