"Sometimes I truly feel freakish. A friend of mine once told me that after I finish reading a book, it takes me a day or so to become "me" again instead of being involved in the book. The way I get absorbed in this series, I'm sure to an outside ob..." Read more of this review »

Typical of Mary Higgins Clark. I pretty much agree with the reviews written. Weak ending, formulaic story, clean, a page-turner, and an easy read. I enjoyed it. But, I knew what I was getting when I picked it up.

I was thrown off as to who the killer

This was a very hard, intense, emotional book!! There was a huge tragedy in the middle that was difficult, but it ended well. Hesses' writing style was descriptive, which made the book beautiful but also added to the emotional difficulty. If you read ...more

“Trying to do the Lord's work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you.”

“Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.”

Jude Deveraux
“There are no new stories. It all depends on how you handle them. In romances the characters are going to fall in love with each other; you know that when you see the syrupy cover. It's how get there that's the fun.”
Jude Deveraux

C.S. Lewis
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
