I'm not sure that I agree with this version of Anne's early life. I would have thought that she would have had a little bit of a harder time. The book lacked an event that would make her so "deer in the headlights" (as she is when she arrives at Green Gables) for lack of a better word. This book seemed to end with Anne at the emotional level she is at the end of Montgomery's books... like she had it all figured out. I don't know, it was just missing an "oomph".
