I've lately been mired in an especially long historical-reading phase--historical fiction, social history, biographies and classic novels. Sometimes I get a hankering for fantasy or science fiction. I have a raging case of Anglophilia; my #1 reading weakness is for historical Britain (especially the Victorian age, but also including but not limited to Georgian, Regency, Edwardian, WW1 or "between the wars"). Other things I love reading or reading about: gothic novels, the Jazz Age, bohemians, the Romantic poets, boarding schools, time travel, novels and biographies about writers and artists, dystopias, nonfiction about food and cooking, Southern fiction, fairy tale elements, coming of age novels...just to name a few. As a recovering YA librarian, I still read YA on occasion, and as a former child, and someone who's wild for all things retro, I adore classic children's novels.
