added a quote:
"Civilization, in fact, grows more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. Wars are no longer waged by the will of superior men, capable of judging dispassionately and intelligently the causes behind them and the effects flowing out of them. The are now begun by first throwing a mob into a panic; they are ended only when it has spent its ferine fury. " — H.L. Mencken

added a quote:
"We always imagine eternity as something beyond our conception, something vast, vast! But why must it be vast? Instead of all that, what if it's one little room, like a bath house in the country, black and grimy and spiders in every corner, and that's all eternity is? I sometimes fancy it like that." — Fyodor Dostoevsky

thanks for the request! i used to work in politics in DC and here in NY for a while for two different non profits... i was an organizer...i've also done some issue campaign work. glad to see another person out there who also sees the value in putting theory into action. ")
Thanks for the request! Keep going with the stem cell research advocacy! I work with people who have spinal cord injuries and my Grandfather passed away from Alzheimers...so I am all for it! There is SO much potential with those beautiful cells...
:)
Have a great week!

Thanks for the friend request. It's always nice to meet another history/politics junkie who has a love for zombies. There's damn few of us out there.
Thanks for the invitation. Your list of interests made me smile. Do your dogs enjoy your dinosaur impersonations?
I want to apologize for the all the recommendations from me today. I wanted to share the Stoker Award news, and I only pressed the send button once--I'm not sure what happened.
Argh...this is terrible...
Again, I'm very sorry.

Thanks for the friendship, Keith!
Here’s wishing you a nifty new 2008 filled with noiseless noses, neato nicknames, noble Nebraskans, gnarly narcoleptic nebulas, and novel novels about nut-eating narwhals and novercaphobic gnats.
I thought I'd let you know that my novel “Vacation” has been nominated for the best Horror Novel of 2007 in the Preditors & Editors Readers' Poll. So far it's ranked 4th.
