The language of this version of selections from the Iliad will stop you in your tracks in places. You will stop and re-read passages and memorize them. In other places, where Logue is going for imagery that appeals to the modern mind's eye, you'll stop and think "hm, did he really have to use 'helicopters' as a visual? it seems out of place." overall, very much worth the read.

I love Neil Gaiman. This is not as good as American Gods, but certainly a good story, full of the kind of fantasy you expect from Gaiman, and with just as much fun.
I tried to give this to my dad to read and he said he didn't like "complete fiction" meaning something that could never happen in real life. If you're like my dad, skip it, but if you had fun with books like, say, Lord of the Rings or the Belgariad, go right ahead, dive in.
