A fun bit of popcorn. It's been a few years since I read these, so I enjoyed the re-read.

A fun read. Not enough piloting and shooting things down out of the sky, though—even if book 3 is even worse in that regard.

Stackpole's writing isn't the best, but the plotting is fun and the characters are great.

Star Wars by James Luceno
When I say, "It was okay," I mean just that. This wasn't a gem in any sense, but I was entertained and it sated my curiosity about Plagueis, as well as dropping some fun tidbits about the history of the Sith order and Anakin Skywalker.

J.R.R. Tolkien
“And the ship went out into the High Sea and passed into the West, until at last on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King

G.K. Chesterton
“What was wonderful about childhood is that anything in it was a wonder. It was not merely a world full of miracles; it was a miraculous world.”
G.K. Chesterton

G.K. Chesterton
“But when first the two black dragons sprang out of the fog upon the small clerk, they had merely the effect of all miracles – they changed the universe. He discovered the fact that all romantics know – that adventures happen on dull days, and not on sunny ones. When the cord of monotony is stretched most tight, it it breaks with a sound like song.”
G.K. Chesterton
