Cynthia's husband had died 2 yrs. ago. She had a young son so she didn't go out much if any at all. Her mother came to live with Cynthia and her son after her husband died. Her mother noticed that she rarely went out and enjoy life since she was only 29-30. One day she went to visit her husband's best friend. He was commentating that he had an extra ticket to Acapulco. He had to talk her into going even she didn;t wnat to go. She did and they noticed that they were attracted to each other. She hated herself since she thought she was betraying her husband's love.
this is one of Brown's earlier books and is a light read. ]]>

Yea, quite good book. I suspected that it was her but didn't want to believe it. It was something about her being like a Stepford wife that got to me. ]]>
I started reading this book tonight & suddenly realized that it was read a few years ago.
It was a good read & I'm glad the feud between the two women were resolved. ]]>
I was gonna give this book 4 stars until I remembered that it was VERY SLOW in the beginning.
5 sorority sisters go to to celebrate one of their birthdays. Rachel gets very drunk and falls down a mountain to her death. The rest of the sisters leave her there and don't report it to the police. A few days later, Rachel is considered missing. Where did her body go????????
Fast forward 10 years. It's her thirtieth birthday and the rest of the sisters as well. Someone is killing them all on their birthday. Is it Rachel or someone else? We don't find out until almost until the end. They are two mysterious twists toward the end & I never guessed either one of them. This book was quite enjoyable if you can get past the first 75-100 pages.
This is the first book that I've read by the author. I'll try her again;hopefully, the first pages aren't as boring as this one was. ]]>
A 7 yr old girl witnessed the death of her mother. The last words that her mother told her was, "Don't make a sound." So, the girl adhered to that advice even when the police and social services found her. Her aunt on her mother's side quit her job and came to live with the daughter. The aunt wasn't married and had no children so she didn't know how to relate to this little person. But, eventually the little girl spoke & you'll be quessing until the last page who the murderer was, ]]>
