What else can you say about a classic? I chose this book because I've been trying to read a few of the selections from the NY Times list from 2008. So far their choices have been hit or miss for me (and more miss, honestly). But this one wasn't bad. As with several of my other NY Times choices, the narrative is somewhat confusing at times, and a lot is left for interpretation. But I got wrapped up in the characters, and I liked when my confusion would give way to little ah-ha moments (ex. when I first started learning more about Dial, etc). I thought Carey did a good job with the narration from Che's perspective (it can't be easy interpreting things from a 7 year old POV). I do wish the ending wasn't so vague though.
