How did you get any of that out of this book? ha It says right on the cover that it's an analysis on pop culture so why were you even looking for or expecting to find a point in a book that is specifically someone's opinions about things that inevitably don't really matter. As far as making fun of everyone, he's a professional music/movie/pop culture critic. Again, what were you expecting? I don't really think he makes fun of anyone more or less than your average person and certainly not to the point of the average person's favorite stand-up comic who has probably multiple times in his career singled somebody out in the audience and called them a faggot. He's critical about things because that's what people buy his books for (except for you ha). I dunno where you go the holier than thou vibe when he is often self-deprecating. I'm not doggin on you John. It's just that I just read this book and I've read several Klosterman books and articles now and what you describe in this review sounds like you read a completely different book than I did. I often disagree with Klosterman but that actually makes me like him more. Always having to agree and make concessions with people (or more importantly people acting like that towards you) sucks. That's why everything is so goddamn mediocre. Anyways, I hope you're well.
