One of the better Blaze books with an emphasis on the developing relationship and the characters outside lives (neatly integrating their careers into the plot for a change) and it wasn't just one extended sex scene. It did lose steam towards the end and the hero's constant "I can't love because my parents were so screwed up" got very old, very fast. Still, it was fun while it lasted. ]]>

This is a historical romance about a manly man forced to dress as a fop in order to spy on his enemies. It's pretty rich in history yet a lot of fun at the same time. Might this be the book to get me out of my unending slump? I so hope so.
Later: I finished this up yesterday unfortunately, though it was a better than good read, it didn't get me out of my slump and it was too easy to put down. It started out fun but eventually dragged in parts and was bogged down with a too obvious villain and a few plot contrivances that annoyed. Still, the leads were lovable and there were quite a few smile inducing passages. ]]>

This was a terrific fantasy anthology all about dreaming. Most of the stories are 8+ or better with only a dud or two. I bought this one because of the stories by Josepha Sherman & Susan Sizemore but ended up enjoying many of the other authors too. ]]>

Jaw droppingly handsome Samuel Lennox, Viscount Ranelagh is heir to a fortune and stinking rich in his own right. He's also a widower. But don't cry for him because she was a major time hussy. Disenchanted with marriage, he has become a womanizer of the first order (or what I'd call a pig). He feasts on different feminine flesh nearly every night and his reputation and prowess is legendary. When the story begins he is drooling over a nude painting and is determined to find the luscious model so he can indulge in yet another night of debauchery. Surely a nude model would be open to a night of passion, hmm?
This is a real fun romp of a book. ]]>

"Female Intelligence" wasn't the best book I've ever read but for a few hours of escapism it fit the bill. Though much of the dialogue is over the top the story contained enough wit to keep me turning the pages. ]]>

The first case featured in this book focuses on a young mother who is extremely disappointed with the way her life has turned out, can't stand her standoffish husband and only truly loves Olivia, the happiest and prettiest of her many daughters. When Olivia goes missing the book turns to the next case about a young woman who is murdered midday in front of witnesses but the killer gets away. The third case involves an ax-wielding murdereress. These cases are pretty cold but Jackson Brodie (a private detective, I think) takes them on. He's thankful for the work and for the opportunity to dwell on something other than his still painful divorce.
I enjoyed this book but now that it's a week or so later and I am attempting to write a review I am very fuzzy on the details. What stuck with me though was the way these stories intersected and the attention to the characterization of the survivors of these horrific cold cases. I went into this book expecting it to be dry and, quite honestly, rather dull but there is a wry sense of humor weaved throughout and so many dark secrets to discover that I never found it boring or hard going. ]]>

This is Twilight written from Edward the vampire's point of view. Too bad this manuscript remains unfinished because it's pretty good. Edward's take on events is very different from Bella's and his view point is often humorous. ]]>
