For me, James Mason is at his absolute best in Nicholas Ray's Bigger Than Life, with a very close second in Max Ophuls' Caught.

I love Kate DiCamillo and went to buy this for my son for but the edition here in the UK was printed on paper that was so thin you could see the print coming through from the other side of the page which made for a very unpleasant reading experience. Is this true of the US edition as well? And are you liking the book so far?

If I could figure out how to do it, I would change my vote over to OMF as well, though I loved Everyman's idea of Mary Kingsley's Travels in West Africa.

I'm not sure this poll is entirely fair given the name of our group. There's a built in bias. Nevertheless, Mason gets my vote any day. The Verdict was the better film, Mason the better actor.
