This slim volume of mystery is at once charmingly eccentric, tragically beautiful, and ever so slightly terrifying. Much like Auri.

What book could possibly follow Fool's Fate? This and only this. After years of disappointment in the Rain Wilds, this return to the Six Duchies and to Fitz feels like a homecoming.

Interesting blend of sci-fi and fantasy elements. The lack of a central protagonist made it harder to get into the story though.

I wolfed this book down in just over a day. Half the memoir of a strayed gamer returning to the fold and half a history of D&D's own formative years, this book is funny, informative, and surprisingly moving.

I didn't end up finishing this one, which is unusual for me. The science fiction was cool but the Republican values annoyed the crap out of me.
