"I have paid MONEY for this. WHY have I paid money for this?Surfacially nice girl with perfectly fine boyfriend is instantly smitten with divinely smelling, insanely well- and richly-dressed, paranormal baddie and is kind of hugely relieved when her save'n nice boyfriend drives himself into a coma. Only having to sit at his bedside instead of kissing jerks turns out to be a bummer... Ehh!!! Crap on toast, no shit." Aug 26, 2014 02:43PM

"It's still not easy to read." May 16, 2014 08:54AM

"I'm reading this for the butterfly cover. Everything is going more nicely than expected, and then... there is a BOY, the school hottie, causing instant attraction right in first period. I so could do without that original plot device." May 04, 2014 10:17PM

Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis
"3.5 stars

Stitching Snow, is a very unique and unusual futuristic sci-fi twist on the classic tale of Snow White. Truthfully? If I didn't already know this was a retelling, I probably wouldn't have made the big leap into thinking this was about Sno..." Read more of this review »

"Did I even tell you guys how awesome this book truly is? No? My bad. This is a perfectly molded pot of colorful cookies you are not likely to find at the end of a rainbow. Makes me want to grow a fu manchu or handlebar mustache so I can twirl it...." Read more of this review »

“Don't mark up the Library's copy, you fool! Librarians are Unprankable. They'll track you down! They have skills!”
Charles Ogden

Scott Douglas
“I am convinced that grandkids are inherently evil people who tell their grandparents to "just go to the library and open up an e-mail account - it's free and so simple.”
Scott Douglas, Quiet, Please: Dispatches From A Public Librarian

China Miéville
“It had become a chimney poking from a vertical universe of bookshelves.

There was motion below her. There were people on the shelves.

They clung to the edges of the cases and moved across them in expert scuttles. They wore ropes and hooks and carried picks on which they sometimes hung. Dangling from straps they carried notebooks, pens, magnifying glasses, ink pads, and stamps.

The men and women took books from the shelves as they went, checked their details, leaning against their ropes, replaced them, pulled out little pads and made notes, sometimes carried the books with them to another place and reshelved it there.

I'm Margarita Staples." She bowed in her harness. 'Extreme librarian. Bookaneer.”
China Miéville

Garrison Keillor
“Librarians, Dusty, possess a vast store of politeness. These are people who get asked regularly the dumbest questions on God's green earth. These people tolerate every kind of crank and eccentric and mouth breather there is.”
Garrison Keillor, Dusty and Lefty: The Lives of the Cowboys
