Cute, quick read about Kat - an interior designer who learns to stop spending frivolously, start saving, and reconnect with what matters most. Although predictable and a little to neat for my taste it was still a fun read. ]]>
Definitely one of my favorite chick-lit books so far. ]]>

that is awesome....funny that we were both reading it at the same time - I have the next one already from the library - but have book club reads to get to also - plus thinking I may need something lighter in between! ]]>

I haven't read a book this suspenseful for a long time - maybe ever actually. It was a hard book to put down - especially for the last 150 pages or so!! That said it was also at times a hard book to read - with a gruesome side that I was really unprepared for going into the book. But the murder mystery side of the book was great - love how the story kept my attention at every turn.
Overall a really great thriller. I can't wait to read the next one - I'm so curious to learn more about Lisbeth! ]]>

A book about addiction, and specifically meth addiction. About a father's love, anguish, hope, and struggles as his son battles this addiction. Because of personal experiences I was excited to read this book - to get more understanding behind addiction and behind meth. And really David Sheff delivered on that point. I am so much more aware of the horrible things that this drug (and others too) can do, and the harm that it can cause, and was also enlightened on the hard road that addicts have coming off it. On the other hand I read this book as a mother - and I have to say it terrifies me to no end to know that my kids may be exposed at some point to drugs. A scary reminder that it is never to early to be sure you have those tough talks with your kids about the choices they make.
Now looking forward to reading his son's memoir about his addiction from his point of view - called Tweak.
