A great young adult fantasy book, and is also twice as charming! A modern day fairy tale, it's incredible from the first letter until the period at the last page of the book. Riveting at times and hilarious more often than not, it'll keep you rolling on the cold floor, laughing your guts out. It's amazingly original; not so many contemporary books these days plot an anti-hero versus fairies. It's a fictional world combining fairy tales and fantasy with Science fiction and adventure. It is absolutely fun to read, action-packed with a twist of comedy. It is in no doubt it'll hook you up till the end of this book and will grab your interest no matter how old you are. ]]>

The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke is a firmly written contemporary fantasy fiction full of adventure and fun mystery for older children. It is the usual good kids versus bad adult’s story but with exceptional depiction and precision. Its main interior is so darn good; charming and heartwarming. It enchants readers the feelings of youth; how it feels to be naive, scared, interested and cautious, how it feels to need friends and love, and how it feels to want freedom.
