I am not personally a feminist (I'm for equality for all people regardless of gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc), but saying feminism ruined marriage is so idiotic. People ruin marriages. Until recently, marriages were made for convenience and not love. Divorce may be overused, but it does have its purpose. And apparently marriages made without religious vows are made for superficial reasons. So basically my marriage is superficial according to this woman. I think not. I have a very happy marriage, thank you very much.

This woman wants women to cater to men, fulfilling their every need and if they don't, the marriage falls apart. So women are always to blame for marriage. And apparently the proper place for a woman is a stay at home mom. Too bad few people today can afford for one parent to stay home. She says that the unisex world of feminism sticks men and women into roles. Too bad she's doing the same thing. And also it's dangerous the health of men to stay at home with the kids. Bullshit. If one spouse wants to stay home with the kids, that's perfectly fine. The gender doesn't matter.

And the sex thing really bothered me. She tells women to have sex with their men whenever the man wants regardless whether or not she wants it. Too bad that's called rape. And what would it be called if I forced my husband to have sex when he didn't want to? It's still rape. Women have the right to say no.

Men are not simple creatures. Human beings are complex creatures. Yeah, the brains of men and women are a little different, but that doesn't mean that humans don't both experience the same range of emotions. I hate supposed feminine and masculine traits. They are part of the human range of emotion. She manages to make men into stupid, single track mind creatures. And she says feminists hate men?

Instead of blaming the women, why not blame the main reason marriages fail? Communication! Both people are to blame for a marriage failing. Not the woman.

"Hahahaha! This was hilarious and a quick read. I'm a huge fan of the Georgia Nicholson diaries for teens and this series reminds me a bit of them, although aimed at the younger set. I'm a huge fan of the Georgia Nicholson diaries for teens and this series reminds me a bit of them, although aimed at the younger set. It's basically about middle schooler Jamie Kelly, who vents to her "dumb diary" about school, boys, her dog, her family, and most of all, her arch-nemesis, the perfect Angeline. Supplementing each diary entry are these humorous illustrations (drawn by our heroine) that had me laughing out loud.

As a kiddo librarian, I would probably caution against recommending these to kids who have very cautious or overprotective parents, simply because words like "dumb" and illustrations depicting the blubbery jowl fat of her obese lunch lady probably won't go over very well in those particular households. But those who grew up on and have outgrown smart-mouthed characters like Junie B. Jones will feel right at home with this series.
