The whole meta-fiction/not-delivering-a-conclusion thing just didn't do it for me.
It's OK I guess. Nothing compared to his short stories (or Slaughterhouse 5, which at least educates, even if it doesn't go anywhere). |

Got about 200 pages in. Think I'm giving up.
I'm not even sure Heller knows how to write -- the foreword/introduction basically says as much... but still... There's this fantastic bit, just before I gave up, about the main protagonist running towar...more |

Very good, but certainly not a masterpiece. Some bits were superb -- the introductory sequence in the Hatchery/Conditioning Center! -- but some was... not so great.
Still, on to Doors of Perception now! |
