I am from Cleveland originally, and my family grew up far east, which is where some of this story takes place (although Shaker heights, the location of this story, is not as far east as my family's homes). I got it because it takes place in Cleveland, and I must say, I never met anyone in Cleve. who even vaguely resembles the characters in this book, except the very final chapter by the lake.. and the comments about the GREAT lake Erie.. cold cold lake is right!!

The wording was very odd in many parts.

I tend to agree with Kate. Being from Cleveland originally, the gritty rapid train info in here was accurate.. though the girl who is considered 'genius' could have been me.. when I gave quotes like that in Cleveland, I got laughed at or ostracized. In this book, Mary Parker does not. That part was not very true-to-life. However, I am trying to get this author on my radio show on blogtalkradio.com. I wrote my own books on Cleveland, though they take place in my time.. the late 80's early 90's.
