It's pretty sad, and the subject matter is harsh. I found it pretty hard to put down once I started, but it's got some gruesome imagery and it's a little frustrating. However, like I said, I couldn't put it down. I love the author's phrasing...it all depends on if you can handle it. If you like Law & Order: Special Victims unit...you'll be fine. :)

Much like The Almost Moon, I felt like this book ended too quickly...but unlike The Almost Moon, I really loved where it took its readers in the end. The characters were well written and had depth; I was glad to see certain of them get what was coming to them in the end. And the final scenes were riveting.

By far one of my most favorite plays to read. I recently got the opportunity to see it performed, and with the exception of one character, they played it just as I pictured it while reading. No one does wordplay and pun like Mr. Wilde.

Not exactly a cover to cover read, which is why it's taken me this long to put up a review. But this is a fun and interesting look at the way we take language and gumble it up to suit our own needs. I love looking at the way words formulate, their origin. Some of the words in this reference guide are expected, but more than enough are unexpected, happy surprises. If you like language, wordplay and linguistics, this is a fun book to pick up and play with.

It took me a bit to get into this one (perhaps because I'm both living and working with my mother currently, so the idea of reading on this particular subject matter was a bit frightening), but once I did it really was hard to put down. I feel like I wanna say the end sucked. I don't think there was ANY closure or completion, and I want to know what happens to everybody. I also wish some of the secondary characters got a bit more screen time and exposition. Overall, though, some great turns of phrase and imagery.
