This is not normally my kind of book but I can't put it down. It's a perfect scary fall story. The setting itself serves as the creepiest character so far. A remote and unforgiving island that is trapping it's innocent visitors inside it's hospital for the criminally insane. However, the most insane people on the island seem to be those running the facility. Two detectives are investigating the disappearance of a patient who leaves them clues and secret messages. When they begin to suspect that something far more sinister is going on, she reappears. Teddy, the main character, was not randomly assigned this investigation either. He has bigger motives in mind that complicate the story as well. ]]>
