Kate is on page 329 of 746 of The Second Sex: Moving into psychology studies of women... There's a lot of talk about Freudian views of women's development: puberty, menstruation, penis envy. That last one rings very false for de Beauvoir. She delves into the idea of female shame, but this section isn't as interesting as the one on myths.
