I actually didn't read this book all the way. The way the story was written, story scenes interrupted by journal entries, turned me off and so I never got farther then the first chapter. The story line looked intriguing enough, and I'm sure several people would enjoy this style but I couldn't stand it enough to get through it all.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, what with Mary Jane as Peter Parker's wife and Black Cat in the same room. I was pleasantly surprised at the writer's way of handling the situation.
While the story isn't necessarily deep, but it was definitely good. At points in the story the author mentions things that any comic reader would be familiar with but it would help a new reader catch up with the story line. It also isn't too long so as to bore the veteran readers. Having only read the Essential Spider-man books up to Vol. 4, I welcomed several of these small "catch-up" paragraphs to keep the story line in place.
I must hand it off to the author for handling two strong-willed lady characters without ruining either of their will-power or feminism. Peter Parker isn't swinging between his ex-girlfriend and current wife, he is most definitely focused on his current wife but he still treats his ex with respect -- a breath of fresh air from soap operas. How Cat and MJ interact with each other is perfectly believable given their personalities.
I have enjoyed this book enough to actually re-read it, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Spider-man and likes a well written story instead of usual mush.

Very simple introduction to Katakana, one of the Japanese writing systems. It helps you not be intimidated by the different writing style and set of symbols. Its easy to practice because they start you off with a set of letters that you can already put together into "loan" words that the Japanese commonly use. It does explain some grammer and culture points about some of the katakana words, but that is not its focus so you won't learn a whole lot on that subject. It does good for what it was meant for, a non-intimidating way to learn Katakana.
