Re-read this trilogy after 30 years and still like it;

now have to consider the 'definitive' new translation by
Tina Nunnally - but do enjoy the 'stilted language and false archaisms' of the Archer translation I read, but then I like the King James Bible too.

Nunally did 'Doghead' and 'Smilla's Sense of Snow' and appears to be a Scandinavian specialist.

  		Read the book and saw the Canadian movie years ago.
To me it was a heavy impact story with humor, on the reservation, serious and entertaining both.
Read a bunch of W.P. Kinsella based on Eric John's enthusiasm, great author - his topics are native american life and baseball (also wrote Field of Dreams).
Short stories are great. Don't have it.

    			  Anyone who's ever been a teen from a broken home with affectionately clueless parents, not fit in at school, moved to a new town, infatuated and probably female is the audience for this series, which does a good job with all that.
The Mormon author has figured out how to have an exhilarating relationship without sex, and it's a fun fantasy superhero plot even if the speech is a little too neat. It's hard to believe she's never heard any valley-girl speech or stammered a little.
