Threeparts Gadding read and liked Evan's review of The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead:

Particularly irksome to me was the weapons section in which he claims that single handed swords lack the power to break through skulls and that katanas should be the first sword of choice because they are light; both of these claims blatantly disregard the benefits of Western weaponry. He also claims that halberds are a waste of time and that crowbars are wonderful weapons against the undead. Obviously this man has never tried to swing either a halberd or a crowbar. There is a reason medieval footmen did not go into battle twirling crowbars over their heads.
While some of Brooks' tips are reasonable, a lot of them could be improved with a touch more practicality and a touch less video game fantasy.

However, the book does shine in the final chapter wherein Brooks chronicles zombie attacks throughout history. While some of his sources are suspect at best, this is where the author's real strength lies.
