Just finished this at the weekend, when I couldn't put it down. While I found it a little slow at the start, I became captivated by the story and its characters, particularly the story within the story. My main criticism is the description of the narrator's inner life, which I found unconvincing and annoying. Also, the Vida Winter character could have been drawn better, but ultimately I loved this book!
