I have often said that this book would probably have been better if it hadn't been a vampire novel. Memnoch was an interesting character, but the Vampires in it were horribly and used and acted completely out-of-character from her previous books. ]]>

Every once in a while I pick it up and try to read a little more, but it just isn't hooking me. I like what I have seen of the setting but the story and characters lack. May give if the next time I pick it up, it doesn't get me. ]]>
