My brain shuts down upon seeing the more complex braiding styles - it's something to do with spatial relations. This book has some of the clearest descriptions of how to braid that I've ever seen, along with some ideas you don't see every day.

2.5 stars. I feel like I was born reading this book. Three weeks is a long, long time for me to read anything. And yet, I didn't wander away and read anything else in the meantime, like I usually do when I get bored with a tome.

" This is actually a very good autobiography. It is truly through the eyes of Priscilla Presley, and I don't think there's a duck in the free world that doesn't wish they could've been a fly on the wall to witness this relationship.

“In my food world, there is no fear or guilt, only joy and balance. So no ingredient is ever off-limits. Rather, all of the recipes here follow my Usually-Sometimes-Rarely philosophy. Notice there is no Never.”
Ellie Krieger, The Food You Crave: Luscious Recipes for a Healthy Life

Simon Van Booy
“If there is such a thing as marriage, it takes place long before the ceremony; in a car on the way to the airport; or as a gray bedrooms fills with dawn, one lover watching the other; or as two strangers stand together in the rain with no bus in sight, arms weighed down with shopping bags. You don't know then. But later you realize - that was the moment.”
Simon Van Booy

Alan Bennett
“The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours”
Alan Bennett, The History Boys: The Film

Richard Scarry
“I'm not interested in creating a book that is read once and then placed on the shelf and forgotten. I am very happy when people have worn out my books, or that they're held together by Scotch tape.”
Richard Scarry

Stephen King
“When his life was ruined, his family killed, his farm destroyed, Job knelt down on the ground and yelled up to the heavens, "Why god? Why me?" and the thundering voice of God answered, There's just something about you that pisses me off.”
Stephen King, Storm of the Century: An Original Screenplay
