im nearing the end of this book now- and I love the richness and vibrancy of Europe as presented in this book. some of the most detailed, and vivid and some beautifully written passages with some ideas that remain groundbreaking.

however as a story- it doesnt really go anywhere. but it works in terms of a collection of characters and forming and breaking of relationships.
