"Quite unremarkable. I haven’t read anything else by Naipaul, and I probably won’t. I know I shouldn’t generalize from reading one book, but I do anyway. Methinks Naipaul is another mediocre Nobel laureate. (Jelinek and Mahfouz are the other exa...more " | |||

These are stories I wrote for San Diego City Beat's Fiction 101 contest (the best stories under 101 words.) The first one won an honorable mention despite its stupid title. The second was printed without a mention of any kind. BTW, if you want to know what a pataphor is, consult wikipedia. That's where I learned of them. Also, Pedro Edelstein is the name of my chihuahua/dachshund mix. Everything else is purely fictional.

Yep, that's the one! I don't know that he's EVIL, per se. But my sister calls him Satan. *sigh*
Hey, we both have pets by computers for avatars. The universe is telling us something (probably that the laundry needs doing--the universe is mysterious...)
The other day, I had 86 sent messages and 86 trash messages in my mindspring account, and I thought of you!
Oh, that's a WAY better solution! Suggestions? Do I ever! How about Kirk's book, Breathing Out the Ghost? If you like true crime, I also recommend The Monster of Florence. And I'm currently reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and enjoying it very much.
I have 459 books on my shelves, 59 books on my to-read shelf, and 59 friends. I love it when numbers coincide like that. Ah, heaven.
They have a camera on a long flexible tube. I saw a behind the scenes on "Life in the Undergrowth." Have you seen that? It's great.
Did you like it? I don't know what my favorite part was--the dung beetle dung ball freedom drama or the extremely erotic snail love sequence.
Oh, sorry. That means "Thank you very much" in Hebrew.
Dave. Dave. Sometimes you need to use the powers of Google to help you along in a situation like this.
Yeah, I suppose my avatars are strangely varied, stretching all over the place in subject matter. I guess they serve in expressing a small portion of my diverse interests/loves plus whatever else flits across my strange mind.
And yes you caught it, just being your normally observant self; my birthday was on the 7th. You’re keen like that. Yet another reason why I dig you.
That's so fucking cute I could puke all over the fucking place.
(I like that you have a chip clip on that kibble.)
Well, I see that happy endings only last about 24 hours now. All our sweet soap opera snuggling as turned into a fish slapping orgy...
Ugh.
Dave! That was incredible! I can't wait to show my chess club in the Fall. It will give them something to aspire to.
Now I wanna be a chess boxer.
Did you see him bite his knuckles? !!!!!!!!!! I'm finding it really hard to contain myself right now. That was the BEST!
Psyched about the top five! Hey, maybe we can put each other in our Alltel circles or something. ;) (I'm serious about that wink, by the way--it's not just a placeholder, it's an emoticon of truth!)
D. Russ...
Just saw your comment about the pm on sex talk. My last sex talk involved aardvark peen. You still in?

Dave, quit teasing me about the book quiz. I am trying to let it GO, and not get dragged back in.
And I could totally whip you if I wanted.
You are most welcome for the laugh! Enjoy Dick while he's here... he's sure to morph into something else very soon. (I can't look at the pic for much longer. It makes me hurt)
:)
Not Dick,
