The book is classic, but just like some critically acclaimed movies there are beautiful things in it and you can see why many like it or even praise it. it's just not all the hype you have heard. the book is beautifully written very detailed emotional in it's own way but it didn't touch me or affect me as much as others it's not bad or horrible i just felt it was ok but work done by a talented writer who is on top of his craft
This book takes you many places some you don’t want to go though you have been there many times. But never saw it the way it is described here. When you get to first know the characters you think you will clearly who to identify with but as you get to know each of them you see how vacuous and bankrupt they are but you still feel for them in some sort of way. You can’t wait to see what happens to them there ultimate fate even though once in awhile it is hinted at. The book is very graphic sexually.

The power of this book is definitely the storytelling Chad Kultgen knows how to tell one and pull you in, but just like his last book this is going to be seen as misogynistic and to a point it is the male characters certainly are but they possess a certain truth of the type of men and women there are in the world, not everyone is like this there are a bunch of them who are and this book shines a light on them they might not go as far as they do in this book. but also keep in mind the book is written with the characters thoughts in there mind they don’t care about political correctness.

This is a controversial good read that if you are not careful can easily influence you and easily bring you to its bleak worldview. Since Mr. Kultgen’s books are so controversial I can also see why he leaves the covers and back bare with only the slimmest amount of information about him.

In the end everyone learns a lesson and pays a price in a way they get there just desserts.
It’s interesting how each rebels against there fate in some sort of way and all have a life changing metamorphosis yet still end up not only with there dreams but there predestined plans they rebelled against in the first place. It teaches how cold and cruel life can be even with the best intentions.

CROOKED LITTLE VEIN

A whacked out detective story with surreal Flourishes that seems to have vivid disturbing disgusting imagery and vile descriptions and analogies which might be being used to draw you into the story or may just be there to shock you.

It I like watching a foreign exploitation film is it artsy or is it trashy? It has beautiful imagery in the middle of a cesspool but it is surely a book that takes you on a adventure that you won’t forget.

The book is never boring if you are a fan of Craig Clevenger or Chuck Palanchiuk you’ll like this, it’s a little more sloppy not written as with as much insight or commentary as the other writers. This book is a little more loose and fun. Noteworthy in it’s own right. It’s hard to put down.

The book offers a good skewered look at least I think at the bushes in a grotesque way. But the interesting thing is that not everything is made up. A lot of these events and disgusting things are based on true events that were uncovered researching the book.

The book for it’s dark subject is surprisingly lite breezy reading. You can’t put it down, You can’t wait to see what happens next and before you know it your more then halfway through the book. It’s prose is not hard to overcome but it is witty, intelligent and quotable none the less. Though you think some subjects and situations are filler and throwaway like a good movie everything is there for a reason. They return back in surprising ways a new type of detective story for the new millennium.
Though the works of J.T. Leroy turned out to be hoax. They weren’t autobiographical or the work of a runaway teenage prostitute. It still doesn’t diminish the powerful writing and stories. I am glad it was a hoax knowing things like the actions on these pages and people like this do exist is horrifying but I’m glad in this instance they all didn’t happen to this one person and that there is no real victim here reaching out and telling there story.

This book is sort of a prequel to SARAH it was written and came out after SARAH but tells the early stories of how the protagonist of SARAH got to where they were at the beginning of that book. This book is hard to get through. It has the beauty of language, but the stories are so horrific and the characters vile that sometimes you want to put the book down take a shower and call a friend to assure that there is good in the world and good people.

It’s an amazing book that is not uplifting at all you’ll be amazed the character survived at all and quite frankly afterwards it will leave you probably feeling quite down. It is a amazing book though, at times I have no right to complain about trivial things because it cold be a lot worse it also leaves me with a disposition where reading about the evils of the world makes me feel like a cop where I look for danger and worst case scenerios wherever I look and feel no matter how horrible. Nothing in human behavior can shock me to the core, it can disgust me but never shock unless i witnessed ir first hand which is very unlikely

It’s almost like when I read a book that I know is horror or a downer challenging myself to react or seeing how far I can read until I finally feel something .
