Consider me officially torqued off. This war has to go down as the biggest blunder in American history and the deceit that went into its beginnings and how it was carried out is mind numbing in the light of day. This book is a cloudless day in July and lays out some pretty compelling facts abouth this mess. To think that we have been spending 100 Billion dollars a year for this debacle while the rest of our economy and social programs go down the toilet should be enough to get people in the streets Tehran style. But oh, I forgot, Michael Jackson is dead and that is all that matters. Thank you Wolf Blitzer for your keen insight on the Jackson autopsy while our soldiers die in the sand and our nations schools fall apart and healthcare is being stalled again by fear mongering on the issue which has been happening since the TRUMAN ADMINISTRATION! Can you tell this book has angered me a bit? Well, enough of my gabbin'. I've got to go watch CNN and MSNBC so I can find out what is going on with John and Kate Plus 8 and the arrest of Henry Loius Gates. Important stuff.Oh yeah, 38 dead in Afghanistan this month. The bloodiest month in the EIGHT YEARS we have been fighting there. Wonder what the Octomom thinks of that.

Thanks for the post Tim. I have been intrigued by Kennedy (Bobby) since reading Schlesinger's Robert Kennedy and His Times way back in high school. Yes, we do not have many if any politicians cut from his cloth today. I will certainly add this to my list. Thanks.

Scott

Sacks, played failrly convincingly by Robin Williams in "Awakenings", is trying to look at how music developed in the human language. Sort of a Chicken/Egg deal. Did music come first then language or vice versa? It is peppered with interesting stories of how people have become musicians after lightning strikes or other severe brain trauma, illustrating his throy that music is rooted deep in our pshyche and has been a part of the human condition since the earliest of man. Easy to read and moves along quickly.

King takes a non-denominational anthropoligist's look at how religion evolved among humans and how it impacts societal structure. A clear look at a potentially muddy topic. King does a great job shedding light on the origins of religion among the human species.

Ken Miller looks to find the middle ground in the Evolution/Creationism debate. He is a practicing Catholic who believes human evolution to be true. Finally a logical voice in what can be a shrill debate with scientists yelling at religion and religion yelling at science. Calm reason wins the day.

Why are people shocked at what Obama is doing as President? It is all spelled out with crystal clear logic right here. Can Glen Beck read? If so he should pick this title up, if not maybe his housekeeper can read it to him.
