Having read this in 1967, I realized its a lifelong teaching. It can be seen for it's poetry and of course its translated into english, but I was at the time in 9th grade "Comparative Religon" and read this on my own looking for the spirituality of the book.I took with me it's explanation of the "Infinate G-D Head" not as some knowledge I'd aquired, but an inkling of what is not known". ]]>
Having read all of Herman Hesse's books first at age 15 I was fortunate to start with "Siddartha".I knew it was about a man's seach for spiritual guidance and direction.While it isn't the "deepest" of Herman Hesse's books it has terrific emotional drive and impact on the reader.I was a changed person after reading this short book. I re-read over time often the Hesse books. You want to know what an artist's soul is like, read Herman Hesse. ]]>
