Nowadays, I tend to concentrate on the great books and poetry of the British, American, French, and Russian canons from the 1700s on. I realize that this is quite subjective; but I am quite open-minded, and I accept recommendations and do my homework. I have several 'great books' lists that I am slowly plowing through. I have to say that "The Victorians" group that I belong to on Goodreads is nothing short of inspirational! Fortunately, my reading (and subsequent book acquisition) horizon has expanded exponentially. I am reading some of the best stuff of my life right now, and enjoying life more than ever. What more could I hope for?

Finally, I also have great fun utilizing Netflix to find and watch the various film adaptations of all of the books I’ve read. My wife laughs, “How many versions of "Pride and Prejudice" can you watch?” [Answer: If they make it, I will watch it!]
