Interesting stories throughout, enjoyable, didn't really get a whole lot out of this until the end. "...mankind were born to live either in the distractions of inquietude or in the lethargy of disgust."

This book was ridiculous. Human nature is a scary thing. One silly thing that I feel after this book is an insane need for travel. People are just people. Everywhere. No exceptions.

This is a book I read at 12 or 13 that has stuck with me for years. Probably reading this as an adult would be disappointing. I was certainly a little bookworm prior to reading this book, but I had never really felt fire from a book until reading Margaret Mitchell. I guess it's one of those coming of age experiences, but forever this book has a special place in my heart. I could not put this book down. Reading for 8-10 hour stretches at times, I found the characters intoxicating, a bit flat, yes, but nearly perfect. My only qualm - Rand is a bit crazy...ok a lot, so the overly idealistic ideas were at times hard to stomach. When I say hard to stomach, I only mean that reading The Fountainhead was an absolutely divine experience, and I feel as if I should not have enjoyed it as much as I did.
