This is a bit tricky, as I actually know the author - well, we are pen pals - and she's been plugging her book to me for absolutely ages... I've just started reading it, am on chapter 4 at the time of writing. Can't say I would have chosen this book if I hadn't made contact with Jaen, it's not a bad read, but this is not a world that I know or is immediately congenial to me and I can't really empathise with the characters. It's decently written though, in a hard-boiled American kind of way and I will try to see it through to the end, if only to say that I have! ]]>
