Truly gripping writing, revealing an alternate origin (i.e. Ultimate universe origin) for Iron Man. I've never been an Iron Man fan but I loved this book. The Davidson Co. library has it in softcover with different cover art than the one shown here.

This memoir from Semisonic's drummer is mildly entertaining, but a bit depressing. Made me especially thankful to not have to rely on idiotic record labels to determine the course of my career. I thought there would be better stories in the book, but he generally takes a sad-sack tone and talks about missed opportunities rather than anything truly entertaining.

The first two issues in this trade are gripping, and the fifth is uniquely Bendis. Bendis is consistently impressive, and this is no exception.

I picked this up at the library because I'm getting all of their Marvel Civil War titles, and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Slightly ashamed to say I'd never heard of the Black Panther, but I ended up really liking the character. He has just married Storm (X-Men), and I particularly liked the portrayal of their relationship. This trade deals a lot with the "foreign" (non-US) perspective on the Marvel Civil War, which added another dimension to the overall story.

Totally hilarious collection of stories from a writer for the Harvard Lampoon. Each story is one or two pages long and a good 1/5th of them are laugh-out-loud funny. Very quick read, and the format allows you to pick it up and put it down several times a day for quick grins.

An amusing novel based on the premise of people under 30 revolting against the Baby Boomers because of Social Security. While entertaining throughout, I felt like I kept waiting for a payoff that never came. This is my first novel by the libertarian-minded Buckley, though I enjoyed the movie based on his earlier novel, Thank You For Smoking.
