I wish I could break down exactly what it is about this book that makes me love it so much. The setting is rich, the magic/theology is compelling, but it is the way that I am immediately drawn in by the characters, caught up in their struggles as if they were my own, that leaves me in awe of Bujold's storytelling ability. ]]>
