This book had the potential to offer so much on such an interesting subject however I found the author’s style of writing dull, so much so that I had problems finishing this book.

Its a good primer to explore this period of American history. It covers the conflict in enough detail to satisfy the casual reader and if you want to read further it offers a good starting point.
