Making Comics is a valuable reference for anyone creating their own comics or wanting to do so. The book seems to make the assumption of intermediate to advanced art skill in the reader. I don't think there's much in here for someone who wants to write scripts for someone else to draw (there is one chapter that will prove directly useful for scriptwriters--the others are geared strongly toward art). For an artist, however, this is a great resource.

A very pleasant little collection of retold Greek myths. Rex Warner's prose style has a very matter-of-fact tone that is quite reminiscent of Grimms' fairy tales. He doesn't steer away from the more gruesome subject matter, either.
The ink illustrations by Edward Gorey are beautiful, but rather rare in the book. There is perhaps one picture for every two or three stories. I can forgive it, though, since everything about this book is lovely.
