I loved this book. I really got behind the author as I read about the things she went through on her journey to discovering who she was. Being that I've always been intrigued by the prospect of ghosts, I also enjoyed reading about the events that happened in the author's very old, possibly haunted childhood home.

While the author's bad language and descriptions of an unhealthy past sometimes got to me, I enjoyed reading about the discoveries she made about her growing baby, about the love that she received from all sorts of people around her, and the wise anecdotes she obtained that helped her gain perspective. I love how Lamott was able to find true beauty and love, not only in her son, but in life in general.
