Unfortunately, not what I'd learned to expect from Ms Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series.
I was disappointed that she re-used so many scenes with so little new material. While we do start in the past, with Fang and Aimee's meeting, I feel that their characters suffered because she didn't write the whole history - we never see Fang's first love, nor Aimee's brothers Bastian and Gilbert - things that are incredibly important to establish how they have trouble getting together.
Her work has been evolving since the 3rd books, and reached some interesting places, but the peak so far seems to have been Acheron.
That being said, there are some seriously interesting developments for the metaplot, although they weren't handled with the care of the earlier books. We'll just have to hope that her next book is back to the quality of Acheron, Sins of the Night or Dance with the Devil.

Pretty standard novelization. Not exceptional, but not bad. The dialogue and some of the set-ups aren't as good at the film, but event rationalization is better. This may be because of scenes cut from the movie.
In my opinion, Foster is no Peter David, but the book is still decent to see a slightly different take on events.
