The writing left a little something to be desired, but I am a firm believer that a good story full of imagination (see what I did there?) can overcome technical limitations. This is absolutely one of those stories. I could see every location and every imagination action so vividly. I was not an "Alice in wonderland" fan to any degree before this book, but I might have to read it to reinforce a few things. But don't get me wrong, this book most definitely stands on its own. My only concern is that the end (last 70 pages or so) felt a bit rushed. Another 20 pages to pace out the end better would not have been a bad thing. All I know is that I can't wait to get a copy of Seeing Redd to continue the series.

Hmm, I plan out my reading list very carefully several books ahead and right about 90% of the way through whatever my current read is I buy a new book and blow off my list. Then I get to a point where I can't decide what book to buy and just yank one of the new unread ones off the shelf. Perfect way to handle it for the scatterbrained like myself.
