Phew this book is hot. Anya Bast sure can write steamy novels. The book contains two stories that follow one another.
The first, Summer pleasures: The Capture, is about Lilane, who wants Sudharian blood on her blade after a vicious attack on her village that killed her family and her fiancé. She stalks and intend to kill Lord Rue d'Ange but instead she gets captured by Rue and her erotic adventures begins.

In the second, Autumn pleasures: The Union, we meet Lord Gregor, a Nordan general that rules the Sudharian capital after the defeat. In trying to heal the wounds after the war and to merge the two countries together he agrees to marry Lady Anaisse of Sudhara. Something that goes against all his traditions.

Even if the pages are steaming with hot sex scenes Anya Bast is able to write quite an interesting fantasy story around her H/H. I like the idea that the two countries once were united and that different beliefs has sprung from the same font, so to say. And the story of the Aviat is something we all can recognize in how minorities are treated in most countries.

I would love to get hold of book two, Winter and Spring pleasures, but so far I have only found extremely expensive copies. It is an exciting story with a darker twist, which only makes the book better. Even when Tanner and Scheme get´s together sexually, it is darker, a bit more forbidden. But I think it fits well with the H/H and their development.
I feel so sad for the treatment Scheme received by her fathers hands. And it´s heart warming to follow her struggle to trust Tanner.
