Most of this book I love -- it's changed the way I think about animals living in zoos versus animals living in the wild.

The story is about a boy who spent over 200 days on a small lifeboat with a tiger. Parts of it are just gorgeous, and other parts get a bit tiresome to read, because it recounts all the details about surviving on the boat, not just the interesting ones.

This book is incredibly well-researched. It really feels like a book that the author put years of work into. The relationships are all interesting -- the drama and the stakes are high -- it's a good read.

It goes back and forth in time from chapter to chapter, so in a sense it reads like a collection of short stories that all relate to a particular book -- or, rather, the people whose lives have been connected with the book.
