Hello,
I am looking for romance written in the 1800s. I definitely prefer novels set in England. I am looking for things like 'Pride & Prejudice' and 'North & South'.
I loved Pride and Prejudice and preferred the fact that life was quite easy, compared to the poverty in North and South.
Can you recommend any books for me to read?
I have read:
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
North and South - Elizabeth Gaskell
Little Women - Louisa May Alcott (I know this isn't really romance but I thought I would mention that I have read it)

This was my first venture into books written in the 1800's. I was expecting to be totally confused, not care about the characters st all and want give up halfway through. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is so much better than any modern romance I've ever read and I urge any fans of romance to read this.
