Excellently written, concise, and insightful biography of America's first international celebrity. The last chapter, in which Isaacson discusses Franklin's up-and-down popularity since his death, is very interesting. It gives the reader a unique 20/20 perspective of the man. Also, his inclusion of a list and brief summary of all the characters/historical figures mention throughout the book, is very helpful to the reader. A similar list was included in Isaacson's the equally good Einstein biography. Highly recommended.

Overrated. The only reason why this book sold a bajillion copies was that it came out around the time of the Batman 1989 movie and it's subsequent media/marketing blitz. Morrison just throws around some pretentious psychobable. The only thing worth noting is the the Amadeus Arkham storyline - It's disturbing and fascinating. Oh yes, and the art while beautiful and hauting at times, can be a little over the top.

An interesting read about Rahm Emanuel - current chief of staff to President Obama. Pretty fair in that it shows Emanuel's vulgarity and heavy-handed tactics. Although sometimes enjoyable, it's hard to forget that the bad guys win at the end of this story.
